The Oregon Board of Pharmacy will have at least one pharmacist member position available beginning July 1, 2020. Applicants should apply for these positions through the Governor’s Office of Executive Appointment. More information can be found here. As part of this process, OSPA has the opportunity to provide recommendations to the Governor. Board of Pharmacy Member Committment
General Information: The Board of Pharmacy has nine member positions consisting of two public members, two pharmacy technician members and five Oregon-licensed pharmacists. The Governor appoints members and they’re then confirmed by the Oregon legislature. The term is four years and you are welcome to apply for reappointment for one second four-year term.
Time Committment: The Board usually meets in the Portland area for two full days, seven times a year. Then twice a year the Board meets for three days. Preparation for Board meetings takes an estimated 8 hours and there is a possibility of emergency or special meetings with additional preparation required.
To Qualify for Pharmacist Member Position: The person must be an Oregon resident at the time of appointment, be licensed and in good standing to practice pharmacy in Oregon, be engaged in the practice of pharmacy in the state and have at least five years of experience in the practice of pharmacy in the state after licensure.
