Join us this March in Bend for continuing education focused on career transitions and professional development.  As the pharmacy industry continues to evolve, learn how to position yourself professionally in this changing career market, while learning more about pharmacists’ roles in different practice settings.

Whether you’re new or seasoned in pharmacy, it’s important to put your best, most relevant application forward when applying for a new opportunity.  Believe it or not…it’s easy to stand out by simply going back to the basics of CV/resume and cover letting writing.  Join us to review common mistakes and insider tips to help you get that interview!

Kelsie Flynn Bostwick is an Oregon State University (OSU) College of Pharmacy Alumni and completed her clinical residency training at Tennessee Valley VA Healthcare System in Nashville, TN. Upon completion, she was honored to move back to her home state of Oregon and accept a position at St. Charles Family Care in Bend. Once moving into the role of St. Charles Ambulatory Care Pharmacist Manager, Kelsie placed focus on program development and has grown the program to include 5 Ambulatory Care PharmDs who manage patients within 7 primary care clinics, 1 PharmD who specializes in T1 diabetes management and 3 Pharm Techs who operate a currently expanding protocol-driven, medication refill team. Seeing significant growth within her department, Kelsie has had the opportunity to review 100+ applications over the last year.

How to Develop Yourself for the New Job Market

Retail pharmacy jobs are now in decline while ambulatory pharmacy jobs are projected to grow. Increasingly pharmacies and pharmacists will be paid based on the value they provide in achieving patient outcomes. There are things every pharmacist can do to develop themselves to provide value in the new pharmacy economy. This talk will discuss professional development strategies as well as how to market your skills to employers.

Kevin Russell graduated from Oregon State University (OSU) College of Pharmacy in 1993 and has worked 27 years in health system and community pharmacies. Kevin obtained his MBA from OSU in 2015 and Board Certification in Ambulatory Care in 2017. Kevin has served on OSPA’s Board of Directors from 2013-2018 and has been on the OSPA/OSHP Joint Legislative Committee since 2015. Kevin was a District Manager for Albertson’s/Safeway from 2013 to 2016. Kevin currently works at Samaritan Health Services as the Outpatient Pharmacy Operations Manager.
