Why OSPA? How could one not be part of OSPA when you look at the advances in practice made possible in Oregon through our professional associations?
The truth is I’m a ‘joiner’. I’ve always believed that there is more to be known and more to be accomplished than I can manage individually. The depth of understanding I have gained from interacting with a diversity of accomplished individuals has provided a foundation in my career.
The magnitude of what others are accomplishing, on my behalf, is something I could never disregard and something each of us have a responsibility to support.
The relationships I have made working with colleagues of independent thought, but a common commitment, has created a professional and personal community that I find irreplaceable. – Gary DeLander, Ph.D., RPh, FAPhA
I choose to support OSPA for a number of reasons. The most basic (and probably obvious) is the chance to network with colleagues old and new through the numerous events made available throughout the year, with continuing education being a nice added perk. It’s also a privilege to be represented by a group of motivated leaders who are passionate about promoting, advancing, and protecting the profession that means so much to us all. Healthcare, and particularly pharmacy is at a point of such rapid evolution that losing a step at any time may be hard to recover from. As clinicians and providers are pressured from multiple directions, both professional and financial, having an organized, capable leadership team helps to make sure that Pharmacy has a place at the table in crucial discussions over reimbursement, provider status, and patient safety to name just a few topics. – Gregg Wendland, RPh.
The Oregon State Pharmacy Association (OSPA) is a membership organization of professional pharmacists, technicians, students and others who have an active interest in the practice of pharmacy.
As an OSPA member, you are part of the development of new practice models that place less emphasis on distributing drugs and more emphasis on pharmacists in all practice settings serving as vital members of a healthcare team.
